Bonnie Prince Charlie Watercolor



A good water colour painting of Bonnie Prince Charlie C. 1800 9" X 8" frame his Face and Tam expertly painted, the rest probably done by a student. The story on back reads: "Charles Edward Stuart Grandson of James II who abdicated the British Throne was born 1720. In 1745 he landed in Scotland from France claim or to recover that Crown which his Grandfather lost by weakness and bigotry but the attempt was unsuccessful for in April 1746 the Rebels were defeated at Culloden by the Duke of Cumberland and the pretender died abroad in 1788. From an original painting of Prince Charles at Sir Watkin Williams Wynne at Windsor.
